BOLZANO. “Are you still alive?”. “Anorexic ass… Shut up for a bit”. “Still talking? Shut up. It is better if you die of cancer, you and your parents”. Hundreds of insults, threats and humiliations that over the years a 5th year student of a city technical institute, just a few weeks old, had to suffer from a classmate of her age, before finding the strength to report him.

On several occasions the boy made her the target of very heavy insults both in the presence of other classmates and in the “Whatsapp” chat. The straw that broke the camel’s back, according to the girl, was what happened during the organization of the class dinner in view of the upcoming final exams. Here, on the group chat, while everyone intervened with their own proposal on how to spend the evening, the “persecutor” classmate began to target the victim by insulting her heavily and unmotivated, and then repeatedly telling her to keep quiet with vulgar epithets and humiliating.

Then, yesterday morning (June 3), in the presence of other classmates, the subject began to wish death on her and her parents, the young victim couldn’t stand it anymore and went to the Police Offices to report the abuser.

At the end of the Judicial Police documents, attached to which all the screenshots were acquired as proof of the persecution to which she was subjected over time, the classmate of the very young victim was reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of stalking and threats.

“Gender violence, persecutory acts and bullying, in addition to representing particularly hateful forms of crime as they are committed to the detriment of victims who are often unable to defend themselves, represent a serious cultural problem – highlighted the Bolzano Police Commissioner Paolo Sartori –. The Police has always been at the forefront, even with specific projects, in encouraging a culture of gender equality, equality and respect for freedoms, with the aim of eliminating cultural heritage and discrimination, as well as with the aim of helping women to defend themselves, ask for help and report the violence they have suffered”.
