The city of Faenza is preparing to welcome the historic passage of the second stage in Italy of the 111th edition of the Tour de France, the ‘Cesenatico-Bologna’, scheduled for Sunday 30 June.

From Saturday 8 June (opening Friday 14 June at 6pm) to 7 July, the Palazzo del Podestà hosts the exhibition, with free entry, ‘Faenza, Faïence, bicycles towards the Tour de France’. On display are the bicycles on which the champions of our territory rode, the shirts they wore, photos of the time and much other unpublished material. You will be able to admire bikes and unique materials of the champions: Antonio Paolo Albonetti, Daniele Caroli, Davide Cassani, Giovanni Cavalcanti, Roberto Conti, Alberto Contoli, Umberto Drei, Giovanni Fabbri, Elio Festa, Fabiano Fontanelli, Renato Laghi, Giuseppe Minardi, Vito Ortelli, Luciano Pezzi, Ivan Ravaioli, Aldo Ronconi, Luigi Sarti, Filippo Savini, Manuele Tarozzi, Alain Turicchia, Valentina Zanzi and Yader Zoli.

Also on display is a selection of unique bicycles from Vincenzo Collina’s private collection linked to the world of work and used in the period between the two war conflicts.

Finally, the nursery schools of Faenza will display dedicated drawings and compositions on the theme of ‘two wheels’, created during educational courses on the theme of sustainable mobility.

Opening hours from Monday to Friday, from 5.30pm to 8pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 12.30pm and from 5.30pm to 8pm. Sunday 30 June, the day of the passage of the Tour de France, from 9am to 12pm. The exhibition can also be visited by school groups and summer camp groups (reservations required at email [email protected]), in the time slot 9-12, Tuesday 18, Friday 21 and Wednesday 26 June.
