THE Faenza committees Borgo Alluvionato and Via Ponte Romano they don’t want to be pulled by the jacket from the right and the left: the party controversies on compensation for damage to movable property that arose after the presentation of the document of the joint committees of the flood victims are of no interest to them.
What they reiterate firmly is that “the government’s promises have to date been completely disregarded”.
“Only a reasonable, realistic and dignified flat-rate estimate of the damage to movable property based on the number of cadastral spaces will be able to induce the flood victim to request and accept the proposed compensation, avoiding unnecessary further expenses for very complex procedures, which would then have to be paid for of the state – they state clearly -. Unfortunately, it must be noted that there is a lack of political awareness of the fact that flood damage is very different from earthquake damage which, as a rule, does not affect the functionality of movable property. This is truly distressing, serious and unacceptable.”
“It is very serious and unacceptable” for the two Manfredi committees “not to have activated the tax credit mechanism after one year to date. Private reconstruction is a complete failure.”
And in support of the total absence of political-party interests in their requests, they recall that they are non-partisan and do not want to enter into the political controversy of the back and forth between exponents of government and opposition forces: “political controversy does not interest us – they close – but after two floods we have full legitimacy to criticize the government’s failed promises, after having also criticized the region and the Municipality on the issue of security”.
