Marcello Colafigli, arrested this morning by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Rome, which coordinated the investigations by the Carabinieri, made use of the collaboration of historic Roman and Apulian drug traffickers, belonging to the Foggia mafia and in particular to the Cerignola clans.

Among the most charismatic names in the criminal field, who ended up in the network of investigators, that of Alessandro Brunetti, 61 years old, known as ‘Sandro’ from Rome, and that of Savino Damato, the 83-year-old nicknamed ‘il Vecchio’ originally from Barletta, in Puglia, stand out. but resident in the capital. In an ancillary position, compared to the group headed by Marcello Colafigli, there was that of the Albanians, at the top of which was Erion Hyseni alias ‘the Blonde’ who together with Naser Xhylani alias ‘the South’ or ‘Leon’ with his compatriot Albanian Roland Nurce nicknamed ‘Landi’ or ‘il Pischello’.

The Albanian gang enjoyed contacts with Colombian drug traffickers with whom they agreed large imports of cocaine and hashish from Spain. In a conversation intercepted by investigators it emerges that Colafigli was planning the importation of a large load of cocaine from Colombia, from the Turbo location in the province of Medellin, where the dialogues intercepted in environmental mode reveal the involvement of Savino Damato, Alessandro Brunetti – as trusted collaborators of Colafigli – as well as Riccardo Tinti, Hyseni Erion, Xhylani Naser and Maurizio Fantini.
