Inter Milan Tracking Two Torino Defenders For This Summer

Inter Milan are tracking two Torino defenders for next summer, in the form of Alessandro Buongiorno and Perr Schuurs.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper anticipated that Buoniorno would be a dream target for the Nerazzurri, but Schuurs is also on their radar.

This summer, Inter are all but certain to make a signing in defense.

Injury problems for veteran former Lazio and Sassuolo defender Francesco Acerbi give the Nerazzurri further incentive to bring in a player in this area.

Acerbi underwent groin surgery today. And, aged 36, there is a certain doubt as to whether Acerbi’s fitness can be relied upon in the next season or two.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Stefan de Vrij will turn 33 next season.

Therefore, Inter want to add a younger player who can shore up the defensive options.

And the profile that the Nerazzurri are seeking would be a player similar to Acerbi and de Vrij.

Inter want to sign a tall, physically strong centre-back with good man-marking ability and who is strong in the air. They want someone adept at playing in the central position of a back three.

Inter Eye Up Torino Duo Buongiorno & Schuurs

The fact that Torino have played a back three system for the past several seasons perhaps makes them a natural source of potential targets for Inter.

And one would certainly be Good morning.

The 24-year-old Italian international would be the dream target for Inter. He would tick every box as far as a defensive signing for the Nerazzurri.

However, there is plenty of competition for Buongiorno’s signature. And he won’t be cheap.

But even if Inter are to miss out on Buongiorno, that doesn’t mean that they won’t sign a defender from Torino.

24-year-old former Ajax defender Schuurs has been on Inter’s radar since last summer.

Schuurs had been among the Nerazzurri’s targets to replace Milan Skriniar, reportedly.

This past season, the Dutchman missed the majority of the campaign with a knee injury.

However, Schuurs is back. And Inter see him as a possible defensive reinforcement for next season, reports Tuttosport.
