Last November, a young student of the professional school dedicated to catering suffered injuries physical violence that forced him to leave the school environment. After the loss of the year the family is ready to take legal action against the school.
Insulted and beaten by his partner
The incident dates back to November of the 2023/2024 school year. According to what was stated by the family, for months now the young student had been experiencing problems related to the harassment he suffered in class from an older classmate.
One day at the end of November, the aunt, the boy’s foster relative, was called from the institute Apolf of Pavia. They told her about the disagreement between the 15 year old, with intellectual disability, and the older companion. When he arrived he found the 15-year-old alone in the classroom, asleep. The student he had a bruise under his eyea bump on the back of the neckof the dizziness and severe nausea. The partner, according to what the 15-year-old stated, hit him first in the faceThen behind the neck and finally on the abdomen.
For this reason his aunt promptly accompanied him inside Hospital where he remained under observation for several hours. The attack of the older pupil, suffered in the school environment during lesson time, caused a head injury which cost him absence from school for several days due to hospitalization.
The request for distance learning
In the following days the aunt and the Principal of the school tried to put the student back in the classroom. On both occasions the 15-year-old was brought home after suffering a panic attack. Whereupon, under the advice of the psychologist who started following the student after the incident, the 15 year old remained at home and the aunt requested the distance learning.
However, the request was not accepted by the school because never formally presented second Piero Iannello, director of the Institutewho also stated that it would not have solved the boy’s education problems in any case as it could only have been organized for a short period.
The incident caused physical and moral damage to the young student who is currently being followed by a psychologist and has started taking drugs.
The family’s legal action
L’former student of Apolf, who recently changed school, has also started to have difficulty even just leaving the house. Therefore, the aunt is ready to take legal action against the school, also accusing the teachers who were supposed to watch over the students. In fact, the school communicated two versions of the reason for the teachers’ failure to intervene: the teacher was in class but didn’t see anything because her back was turned, the teacher was not present due to the time change.
An unacceptable situation that pushed the aunt to request the intervention of a lawyer, Massimo Zuccawith which he will sue the entire Institute.
