Modica, the novel “Martin’s Dream” by Papè Rizzone presented –

The novel entitled “IL SOGNO DI MARTIN” by Papè Rizzone from Modica was presented on Saturday in Modica at the Floridia Auditorium.

Martin’s story narrated by Rizzone travels between fantasy and reality, managing to involve the reader with an appropriate language, with a linear style and modulated according to stylistic features that know how to reinvent the realism of an epochal problem, sublimating everyday life to the touch of the soul.

Rizzone creates characters (Zita, Monzur, Kaled, Karim, Hamed, Miriam, Sara, Fatima, Mario) with which he touches on the theme of religious identity and integration, the problem of Martin’s detachment from his people and his culture ; the death of his parents, the trials faced by the young immigrant in childhood and during the drowning of his traveling companions. The videos of his memory remind him of the moments in which he found himself attached to that rock on the Italian coast before Samir brought him to safety by pulling him out of the waves.

The preface was edited by prof. Domenico Pisana.

The meeting was moderated by the journalist Salvatore Cannata. After the greetings of the mayor of Modica, Maria Monisteri, and the deputy of the DC, Ignazio Abbate, the evening’s program continued with readings by Marcella Rizzone and speeches by Giorgio Casa, President of the “Carlo Papa” Workers’ Society, Anna Maria Aiello and Franco Frasca.
