These are the words of condolence of the Army Chief of Staff, Army Corps General Carmine Masiello, who expresses pain and closeness to the family and dearest loved ones of the Graduate Adjutant of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment of the Sassari Brigade, Stefano Pistis, died in a car accident that occurred this afternoon on 131 in Tramatza.
The Army, we read in a note, «immediately activated every form of support and assistance to the family members of the deceased soldier, in the awareness of the terrible moment they are going through. We wish the soldier injured in the accident, Roberto Calaresu, 47, a speedy recovery with the hope of being able to have him back among us as soon as possible.”
The condolences of the Sassari Brigade
Sentiments of emotional closeness and condolences to the family members, on behalf of all the soldiers of the “Sassari” Brigade, were expressed by the commander, General Stefano Messina, and by the commander of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment, Colonel Alessandro Latino.
«The soldier», we read in an official note, «was well known and respected by his colleagues for his great professionalism gained at home and in peacekeeping missions abroad».
Stefano Pistis «dedicated his life to service, initially as a paratrooper of the “Folgore” Brigade and then in the ranks of the 3rd Bersaglieri Regiment». The forty-five year old was «generous, jovial, altruistic, tireless collaborator, precise and reliable: This is how the soldiers of the great “Sassarina” family remember him, among whom he leaves an unbridgeable void.”
The Minister’s message
At the same time, the message of closeness arrived from the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, addressed to the family and all the soldiers, as well as to the comrade involved, Roberto Calaresu, 47 years old hospitalized and not in danger of his life.
