“Civic defense and active participation: the Calabria region as a protagonist”. This will be the theme of the upcoming conference Friday 28 June at 10.00 am in the “Federica Monteleone” room of the Regional Council.
The event will be preceded on Thursday 27th by the Plenary Assembly of the Ombudsmen of the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces chaired by Marino Fardelli, Ombudsman of the Lazio Region.
The figure of the ombudsman in Calabria was implemented for the first time last year, with the election of Ubaldo Comite. Full professor of public management, graduated in law, economics and commerce, banking economics, statistics, Comite is a cassation lawyer, chartered accountant and auditor. He specializes in administrative law and administrative sciences at the University of Teramo.
The ombudsman, who takes inspiration from the Swedish ombudsman, is a figure of guarantee for the protection of the rights and interests of the citizen towards the public administration which, through the carrying out of a dissuasive-persuasive activity, aims to fully implement the constitutional principles of the good performance and impartiality of the PA.
The need to make known and disseminate, also in Calabria, the opportunities and services offered by the Office of the Ombudsman also through the presentation of the results of a year of institutional activity, will animate the initiative organized in collaboration with the Bar Association of Reggio Calabria and the National Coordination of Ombudsmen of the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces. The proceedings will be opened by the President of the Regional Council of Calabria, Filippo Mancuso, and the President of the Bar Association of Reggio Calabria, Rosario Maria Infantino. Speakers will include Marino Fardelli, Ombudsman of the Lazio Region and President of the National Coordination of Ombudsmen of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Ubaldo Comite, Ombudsman of the Calabria Region, Attilio Cotroneo, Councilor of the Bar Association of Reggio Calabria and Representative of the Commission Civil-administrative justice, Nicola Durante, President of the TAR Section of Salerno, Gianna Morandi, Ombudsman of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Gianalberico De Vecchi and Guido Giusti respectively ombudsmen of the Lombardy Region and the Emilia Romagna Region.
It will, therefore, be a comparison between experts and technicians in the field who will offer different interpretations of the crucial role of this figure in the institutional panorama of the guarantee bodies, in the regional and European dimension.
The event will allow the recognition of two training credits by the Council of the Bar Association of Reggio Calabria.
