In the early hours of yesterday morning, the Carabinieri of the Bergamo Company, at the conclusion of investigation activities, carried out a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Bergamo against a 46-year-old Chinese woman and a 67-year-old Italian man , for exploitation of prostitution.
The investigations
The investigation activity, conducted by the Operational Section of the Carabinieri Company of Bergamo and coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, began in October 2022, when a suspicious coming and going of subjects inside an apartment located in the municipality of Ponte San was reported. Peter. Observation and shadowing services were carried out aimed at identifying the subjects who, interviewed as witnesses, confirmed that inside the apartment there was a considerable prostitution ring (the number of customers was, on average, thirty per day) coordinated by a Chinese woman.
Following the examination of the witnesses, and the formalization of a complaint by some condominium owners, the technical activities began which made it possible to ascertain the truthfulness of what was asserted by the customers examined as witnesses. The Chinese director of the business had rented the property, illegally, from a 67-year-old Italian, who later turned out to be an accomplice to the illicit activity as he was aware of what was happening inside and received compensation for the rent well above market prices.
The Chinese woman, in particular, was responsible for the recruitment, via social platforms, of girls of Chinese origin, available to reach the municipality of Ponte San Pietro to prostitute themselves. Of the fees received, 50% remained in the pockets of the director of the house of prostitution, who paid the rent to the Italian with part of the proceeds. The list of Chinese women recruited for prostitution, from notes found by investigators, even covered the entire year 2026.
Furthermore, two searches were carried out. The first in December 2023 when the soldiers under observation had ascertained that there would be a girl change. On that occasion, in fact, the Chinese girl who was prostituting herself inside the house that month was checked by a military patrol from the Curno station and, following the personal search, 31,230 euros in cash were seized the girl was wearing a fishnet stocking that she had tied around her waist.
