Lombardy hospitals. Ok Arrived at infrastructural-technological strengthening and new projects. Green light for measures worth 128.2 million and 1.1 billion for the allocation of regional resources and national funds

With the first resolution, regional resources are allocated to the Lombard Ats and Assts for equipment and environmental adjustments and reclamation. The second provision provides for the distribution of national funds across 9 projects for the construction or renovation of strategic hospital facilities. These are resources of article 20 of National Law 67/88 dedicated to this type of intervention.

03 JUN – The Lombardy Region today approved two important measures in the Council, proposed by the Welfare Councilor Guido Bertolaso, aimed at strengthening the infrastructure and technology of the healthcare system. With the first resolution, regional resources amounting to 128.2 million are allocated to the Lombardy Ats and Assts for equipment and environmental adjustments and reclamation. The second measure, of 1.141 billion euros, provides for the distribution of national funds across 9 projects for the construction or renovation of strategic hospital facilities. These are resources of article 20 of National Law 67/88 dedicated to this type of intervention.

“We are allocating a first tranche of regional resources – underlined the regional councilor for Welfare – for low and medium technology equipment. Acquisitions and renewals with PNRR funds are underway on large equipment, but all the equipment used by healthcare workers must be efficient and modern to allow them to work optimally. Even the device for performing the ECG or the portable ultrasound are fundamental parts of the equipment necessary for the healthcare activity that is carried out every day in our facilities. With the second resolution we allocate the national funds already foreseen in relation to article 20, realigning and specifying the interventions in order to accelerate the implementation process and therefore their timely and prompt implementation. These are strategic projects with which we intend to proceed in the next three years in the Lombardy region”.

The 128.2 million euros allocated by the Lombardy Region are divided as follows: 40 million for maintenance of systems, structures and equipment for the year 2024), 77 million for the purchase of new low and medium technology equipment, replacing those currently present whose performance is no longer optimal due to age, obsolescence, recurring maintenance interventions and irreparability. This intervention aims to improve the efficiency of healthcare facilities, reduce waiting lists and increase the safety of patients and operators. Finally, 11.2 million euros for expansion, renovation and asbestos abatement works in the San Gerardo hospital in Monza (6.9 million), the Rivolta d’Adda hospital (2.3 million) and for the adaptation of the Cernusco sul Naviglio operating block (1.9 million).

The second resolution provides for the implementation of projects (for a total amount of 1.141 billion euros, funds provided for by art. 20 of Law 67/88) which, specifically, concern:

the construction of the new hospital in Busto Arsizio-Gallarate (440 million euros);

the redevelopment of the Spedali Civili of Brescia (274 million euros);

the reorganization and reorganization of the San Matteo di Pavia, cardio-thoracic-vascular and emergency-urgency center and research center (154 million euros);

the expansion of the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo with the construction of the VIII tower for daytime activities (100 million euros);

the expansion and renovation of the Sondrio hospital of the ASST Valtellina and Alto Lario (70 million euros);

the demolition, reclamation and regeneration of the areas currently occupied by the Cremona hospital block (30 million euros);

the new operating block and emergency-emergency plate in Esine of the ASST Valcamonica (24 million euros);

the renovation of the Carati pavilion for Child Neuropsychiatry and Psychiatry at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan (32 million euros);

the renovation of the Talamona pavilion, which concerns training and ‘buffer’ hospitalizations at the Niguarda Hospital in Milan (17 million euros). (
