About a month after the attempted murder of Roberto Di Martino (in the photo), the intense investigations conducted by the DDA of Catania, the Police Headquarters and the Flying Squad of Ragusa, as well as by the Vittoria police station recorded an important turning point.
The news is still kept top secret, but from authoritative sources we learn that the investigative bodies mentioned above have already sent to prison a couple of people from Vittoria, already known in the criminal world, for having played an important role in the attempted murder of the former collaborator of justice Roberto Di Martino (brother of the killer Claudio who killed Salvatore Incardona, a fruit and vegetable commission agent reluctant to pay protection money in the 1980s). The two arrested have already appointed their trusted lawyers: Maurizio Catalano and Rosario Cognata. Now they would already be in the Pendente district prison. Roberto Di Martino had returned to Vittoria after the period of protection reserved for justice collaborators. For reasons that have not yet been disclosed, Di Martino suffered a mafia-style ambush near his country house. One or more perpetrators fired 7.65 caliber pistol shots at him from close range, causing him to lose his right eye.
