Off to the final phase of the “Citta di Cremona” competition. After the drawing of the performance order of the 19 virtuosos who passed the preliminary rounds, the final phase of the competition began this morning and will continue in “solo violin” until tomorrow at 7.00 pm. On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th we will then move on to piano rehearsals before reaching the final on Sunday 9th June at 3pm. The Japanese violinist Kokoro Imagawa gave the “A” and broke the ice of the day, with two movements (grave, fugue) from JSBach’s violin sonata n.2. The solo violin test also includes a piece specially commissioned from the composer Stefano Delle Donne, entitled Inside, in which the performers will also have to sing as well as play.
The jury was present in full international jury chaired by Sergej Krylov and including masters of the caliber of Pierre Amoyal, Ksenia Milas, Alessandro Quarta, Massimo Quarta, Oleksandr Semchuk (with the friendly presence of his own dog in his arms), Kyoko Takezawa, Anna Tifu, Kirill Troussov.
