Very important day next Tuesday 4 June for the CISL FP of the Marche region and therefore also for the CISL FP of the Fermo area. The CISL FP National General Secretary, Maurizio Petriccioli will in fact be in Ancona next Tuesday on the occasion of the General Council which will be held at the Seebay, in Portonovo di Ancona.
This visit by the National Secretary of the CISL FP, which should not be forgotten, is the first Union of Public Employment Workers in the Marche and even more so in the province of Fermo where in the last RSU elections it gained the majority in 80% of the Public Bodies and came first in Healthcare, arrives at a crucial and very difficult time due to the working conditions and staff shortages recorded. At stake is the renewal of national public employment contracts for the three-year period 2022/2024 and the financing of the national health system. Topics that will be at the center of the debate on Tuesday 4 June. Furthermore, especially for the Fermo healthcare system, always and constantly in need of oxygen in the departments and services due to the lack of healthcare and professional staff which is causing tensions to rise in the workplace in the imminence of the summer holidays, the definitive overcoming of the wicked rule on spending ceilings, the main cause of the strangulation of ASL staff and beyond. In this regard, it should be remembered that the Regional Council, giving yet another slap in the face to the professionals and therefore to the citizens of Fermo, unexpectedly assigned AST FERMO a real pittance (just 480 thousand euros of the 9 million euros available to the Region to increase the limit of the spending ceiling. Other nearby ASTs, which also continually complain, despite having exceeded every possible limit of funds, have been allocated millions of euros for no reason other than their political weight in the regional scenario and it is an offense against the Fermo area.
The CISL FP – Fermo Trade Union Area will bring into the debate with the National Secretary the requests of the public workers of Fermo and the province and in particular of the professionals and healthcare workers. New hires to guarantee quality assistance but also new stabilizations of temporary workers and better work organization are essential conditions to guarantee dignified working conditions for healthcare professionals, in particular nurses, social and healthcare workers and technicians. All this would also serve to qualify and improve the healthcare offer to counter and stem, given the growing demand for healthcare services, the phenomenon of “health tourism” towards other regions which costs the Marche almost 140 million euros every year of which approximately 13 million from Fermo.
The meeting with Petriccioli will also be an opportunity to launch the RSU 2025 electoral campaign, which will culminate with the renewal of union representation in all public workplaces. The CISL FP Marche, strong with the 36% of votes obtained in the last 2022 elections, will launch a series of assemblies to listen to workers and define together the platforms to meet the needs of the different professionals present in healthcare, in local and central functions.
Healthcare will be the sector that will begin meetings immediately in Fermo. The summer holidays will greatly complicate the already critical situation in the hospital and in the area. According to the actual and real needs in the field, at least another 30 nurses and 20 OSS as well as other professional figures would be missing from the call for AST Fermo. These would be the numbers to avoid the continuous and repeated recourse to the forced return to service from remarriage and holidays of those who, having to cover shifts, must make up for the unavailability of absent colleagues. Instead, there should be only 8 new hires of nurses and 4 of OSS: a drop in the bucket that is difficult to bring home. Suffice it to say that to date, although the AST of Ancona had taken on the burden of organizing it many months ago, the public competition for the preparation of a permanent OSS ranking has not been completed. It is therefore difficult to assume this figure from the rankings of distant provinces. The concern of the CISL FP is great for the sustainability of the summer holidays in the absence of any merging of departments. The warning he sends to the General Management of AST Fermo, with whom relations remain highly collaborative for now, is not to open further Services (we are talking about COT, PUA and OBI) without hiring the necessary additional professional figures. If this were not the case, the trade union climate, which today is absolutely mutually respectful, could suddenly change. The sirens of politics and in particular of the Health Councilor, who pushes for these new services, should not be indulged. We know well that politics needs for its survival to make people believe what it is not. The CISL FP will not allow the activation of new Services always and only on the shoulders of professionals and operators who have already given everything they could. The reaction would be very strong and the consequences serious.
