They stole cash funds from slot machines, 5 million seized

(ANSA) – VARESE, JUNE 03 – A seizure worth almost 5 million euros (approximately 4 million 700 thousand euros) and two disqualification measures prohibiting carrying out business activities were issued by the Varese investigating judge at the end of the “Easy slot” operation ” carried out by the financiers of the provincial command of the Gdf of Varese. According to the accusation, the suspects, seven natural persons and one legal person, stole the cash funds of the new slots and, through a ring of paper mill companies and false invoices, did not pay the single tax levy (Preu) or the tax applied to amusement machines and entertainment. The sums disappeared and were laundered. The investigation started from the complaint presented by Lottomatica against a company based in Varese. On the basis of the analysis of the documentation, the chats on the mobile phones of the suspects, the bank checks and the statements of witnesses, the existence of a criminal group was contested by the Varese Prosecutor’s Office, which thanks to the establishment of some companies that operated in gaming collection and management sector, guaranteed continuous movement of money in the face of non-existent operations. During the searches, among other things, the Fiamme Gialle soldiers seized 200 thousand euros in coins. The Prosecutor’s Office has now filed the notice of conclusion of the investigation: the suspects will be held accountable for embezzlement, embezzlement, fraudulent declaration and issuing invoices for persistent operations, self-laundering, fraud against the State, fraudulent bankruptcy and administrative offence.
