The victim
A 52 year old cyclist was invested and killed, shortly before 7pm yesterday, on state road 172, the state road that connects Taranto to Martina Franca, in the Statte area. The victim is Michele Viola, from Reggio Calabria, head of cabinet of the Taranto Police Headquarters. The senior police officer arrived at the Ionian police station last April. According to initial information, the 52-year-old was hit by a car while proceeding in the direction of Taranto. 118, the carabinieri and the traffic police were on site.
