Blood in Messina. The body of a boy, Michele Lanfranchi, 19 years old (he would have turned 20 in July) was found last night in Giostra. The body was found on the pavement in via Michelangelo Rizzo with an evident gunshot wound, so everything suggests that the young man was killed. At the moment no other details are known and no leads have been ruled out even if everything suggests a brutal murder. Investigations underway by the Flying Squad.
The murder in Reggio
He had surprised the thieves in the house and stabbed them, causing the death of one and the wounding of the other. He is now in custody on charges of murder and attempted murder.
This, at the moment, as reported by La Sicilia, is the reconstruction made by the police and carabinieri, with the coordination of the Reggio Calabria Prosecutor’s Office, on what happened two days ago in the city, when a thirty-year-old from Catania, Alfio Stancampiano, was left in front of the Morelli hospital, and died immediately afterwards, by two people who then quickly drove away in a Fiat Punto.
The investigations
The investigations led to the discovery, shortly afterwards, of the car parked at the landing stage for Sicily in Villa San Giovanni. The searches thus moved to Sicily, where an alleged accomplice of the victim was found, a 46-year-old also from Catania, hospitalized in Messina hospital with stab wounds.
The reconstruction of the investigators
Yesterday, the police and Carabinieri therefore notified a detention order issued by the Reggio Calabria prosecutor’s office against a 48-year-old from Reggio Calabria, accused of murder and attempted murder. According to the reconstruction made by the investigators, the two stabbed men, perhaps together with a third man, attempted a robbery in a private home in Rosario Valanidi, on the southern outskirts of Reggio Calabria.
Thieves surprised and stabbed by the owner
The thieves, however, were surprised by the owner who reacted by stabbing two of them. Due to his serious condition, Stancampiano was accompanied and abandoned in the garden in front of the Morelli hospital where he immediately died, while the others attempted to return to Catania but also his accomplice, seriously injured, was forced to go to the hospital in Messina where he was hospitalized.
