Republic Day in Piazza del Popolo in Ravenna

Today, Sunday 2 June, the 78th anniversary of the Italian Republic is celebrated with a series of events scheduled in Piazza del Popolo in Ravenna. Other initiatives took place in various municipalities.

The day of celebration began at 10am with the flag-raising ceremony, followed by the reading of the official message from the President of the Republic and the awarding of honours.

In the square the Mayor of Ravenna Michele de Pascale and the mayor of Russi Valentina Palli representing the Province. Naturally the Prefect Castrese De Rosa. Many mayors were present.

The day will then end at 7.15pm, with the flag being lowered and followed by a concert by the Ravenna city band.
