“Windward on the wave of emotions”

More than a press conference to reel off the numbers of an unexpected success (121,261 accounts reached with 4,227 interactions on Meta, 100 thousand views for the Reels of the procession with the punt and a live broadcast on Radio Rai1), it was the last surprise event of Sopravènto, a festival that was able to rekindle the enthusiasm of the Fano navy, in a historical period of great suffering. Yes, because yesterday morning in the presence of the partner associations involved, Mattia Priori, director of the Festival which also saw the collaboration of Colapesce and Dimartino, showed the city a short film which offers an exciting narration of the work of the Fano clam makers.

It was created by Margherita Iacucci, just 20 years old, who with the simple tools at her disposal produced a more than realistic document of the nocturnal mussel harvest. “I told a glimpse of the life of my uncle and our sea – she explained at the end of the applauded vision at MeMo – in this work which is an entrance exam test for the Academy of Direction in Rome”. “If the objective was to excite – said Priori – we can say we succeeded. They were three incredible days, designed to stimulate relationships around music and seafaring on the wave of emotions”. This includes the music played on a small boat at the Darsena Borghese, the ritual procession with the boat from the port to the historic centre, the chats at sunset between artists and sailors and the intimate and engaging concerts in the former church of San Francesco, including Colapesce-Dimartino who with Filippo Graziani reinterpreted ‘I Marinai’ by their father Ivan.

The first edition has been completed and work is already underway on the next one. “Colapesce and Dimartino would like to bring together all the Italian navies in Fano” announced Priori. “How wonderful it would be – commented Mauro Facchini, known as Pipetta, like the boat on which he sailed the sea for 40 years -. We were a cutting-edge navy, known throughout Italy. In 10 years they managed to destroy a flotilla of 70 fishing boats offshore… and now the port is empty”.
