Brazil won 3 to 2 with scores of 24/26, 27/25, 25/18, 19/25 and 10/15, punishing the wasteful Italians.

The match
Julio Velasco started by fielding the same lineup as against the Dominican Republic. Alessia Orro diagonally with Paola Egonu, Marina Lubian and Anna Danesi in the center, Caterina Bosetti and Miriam Sylla in the band and Monica De Gennaro libero.
The match started badly with the Brazilians extending the lead to plus seven. Velasco tried to insert Alice Degradi For Caterina Bosetti and the team tried to make up for it and lost the advantages.
In the second period the Italians tried to extend the score to 16/12 and then reach 25 all. Ekaterina Antropovawho just entered, and Myriam Sylla finished 27 to 25.
The Italians played well in the third period and proved to be superior to the Brazilians in all fundamentals. The partial went straight and the Italians closed 25 to 18, taking the lead to 2 to 1.
Then halfway through the fourth period, with a plus-four advantage, the magic breaks. The Brazilians began the comeback, the Italians instead began to collect errors and it ended 19 to 25. Then the Brazilians maintained the advantage until the final 15,710.

Volleyball Nations League
Brazil and Poland lead the tournament standings with maximum points without defeats. The Italians share, for now, third position with Japan. At the end of the three weeks of the tournament, the top eight in the rankings will face each other in the quarter-finals.
Paris 2024
The second defeat of the tournament causes us to lose 3.68 points in the world ranking, but confirms us in fifth place behind the USA. Turkey leads the ranking followed by Brazil and Poland, followed by the USA and Italy.
The organizing country, France, has rightful access to the Paris 2024 Olympics while the Dominican Republic, Turkey, the United States, Serbia, Brazil and Poland have already qualified. So there are still five national teams that qualify based on the world rankings.
There are five games left until the end of the tournament and, to date, Italy occupies fifth place in the world rankings, but first among the teams seeking qualification. It also has a substantial advantage over Canada and the Netherlands which are respectively the last virtual qualifier for the Olympics and the first of those excluded.
