Monica Tassoni56 years old, an official of the Abruzzo Region, was hit and killed while cycling in Giulianova, in the province of Teramo. The tragic accident happened just before midday, in the underpass of Via d’Annunzio. The woman was hit by a large SUV, which immediately stopped to provide assistance. An ambulance from 118 immediately arrived on the scene, the doctor tried in every way to resuscitate her, but shortly afterwards the woman died. The traffic police are on site to carry out investigations and clearly understand the responsibilities.
«Today the Abruzzo Region lost a valid employee in a tragic road accident in Giulianova. On behalf of myself and the entire regional council, I offer my condolences to Monica Tassoni’s family at this painful moment.” Thus the President of the Abruzzo Region, Marco Marsilio. Tassoni was the official responsible for the governance of the Region’s Employment Centres. The woman was hit by a car while she was cycling in the center of Giulianova. She hit her head when she fell to the ground and died.
