Bologna, 1 June 2024 – Cycling for the environment. There Ciemmona 2024organized by Critical Mass, today also went through a stretch of ring roadfrom the via Stalingrado exit towards San Lazzaro, to say no to cars.

There pedalingwho crossed half of Bologna, saw in the saddle around 400 according to estimates by the police, arrived from half of Italy. Obviously, the demonstration that brought together the “No passers-by” created many problems for the traffic with long queues not only on the ring roadbut also in the other areas touched by the bike procession.
There demonstration today is part of one three days (from 31 May to 2 June) of what is defined as a ‘festive re-appropriation of the streets and of an urban space suitable for living beings (human and otherwise), for the right to mobility without borders’.
The procession of bikes started from Don Bosco parkin the San Donato area, which has been at the center of controversy for months over the demolition and reconstruction project of the Besta schools with the felling of many trees, then went through various roads and also entered ring roadcovering a stretch of it.
The promoters of the event address criticism of various works (People Mover, Fico, Av station) and also to the Passante di mezzo project, i.e. the doubling of motorway And ring road which, they write, ‘looms gray over the city’s future’.
