They catch thieves rummaging through their house: the criminals grab a blade and force them to hand over their belongings
Threatened with the knife by the robbers. The victim was an elderly woman 77 years old who, together with her 83-year-old husband, has surprised the thieves in his home in Castello di Godego, in the province of Treviso, shortly after 8pm on Friday evening. The woman, in a state of shockaccused a illness and was admitted to hospital where her health condition is constant monitored. Two criminals who entered the house on the evening of May 31st to commit a theft which then degenerated into robbery.
The assault and escape
According to a first reconstruction of the incident by the Carabinieri of the Castelfranco Veneto company, the two pensioners were in the Kitchen of their house in via Verdi when the two unknown they entered by rummaging in the other rooms. They probably were moving from room to room surprised by the couple. Immediately one of the two robbers grabbed a knife which he took from the kitchen and threatened the old woman by having her handed over gold necklace which he wore around his neck. The husband was forced to to empty the pockets in which he had some banknote and a few pennies. Having grabbed the meager loot, the two are Escaped, losing their tracks in the surrounding streets. Immediately the couple gave the alarm requesting the intervention of the police.
The illness
At that point the 77-year-old, very upset by the raid by the two robbers, felt ill. The stress and the fear they caused her a strong state of shock from which she is trying to recover.
