Immense pain has struck the community of Modicawhere she passed away prematurely Federica Basile, a girl of only 16 years old. The news of her premature death left everyone dismayed, especially her loved ones: her mother Marisa, her father Francesco, her brother Giovanni and all her relatives.
THE funerals they will be held today, June 1st, at 10 am in the mother church of San Giorgio in Modica. After the funeral, the young woman’s body will be moved to the crematorium of Misterbianco.
The untimely death
Federica had her whole life ahead of her, many dreams and desires that now remain unfulfilled. It remains only an indelible memory for those who knew her. Messages of condolence follow one another on social media, with words of pain and disbelief for such a sudden and painful loss: “When innocent souls like Federica’s fly away, we all lost. Rip little one, give strength to your family to survive this pain”, – writes a user -.
“This morning the entire Modican community is ideally gathered around the Basile family who will say goodbye to their beloved Federica for the last time. Every word is superfluous when we are faced with these tragedies. Unfortunately, it is not the first time that we have found ourselves facing situations, the whys are multiplying, the remorse as a society grips us. Today only silence and prayer for this beautiful soul who flew away too soon” – wrote Ignazio Abbate, former mayor of Modica -.
The pain of a community
“Heart-breaking news… keep watch, little one, from up there all the fragile kids who cry for help with their silence and no one listens” is just one of the comments left on social media in memory of little Federica. A death suddenprobably unexpected for many, which the Modica community can hardly believe.
An inexplicable pain for family, friends and all those who were lucky enough to know Federica. A young girl ready to challenge the world, she had every right to do so.

Federica Basile, at 16 years old, had already won the hearts of everyone who knew her. A contagious smile, boundless generosity and a passion for music and sport: Federica was one of those people who brighten the lives of those around her. Her premature death is an immense pain that has left an unbridgeable void in the hearts of her family, friends and classmates.
