Two neighborhoods of the city will soon be connected to each other thanks to the work that the administration is preparing to carry out with PNRR funds: S. Francesco and Gabelluccia

In fact, the tender for the construction of a pedestrian walkway over the Esaro river, which divides the two areas, was awarded.

This was communicated by PNRR councilor Luca Bossi.

The intervention, for a total financing of 2.2 million euros, concerns the construction of a cycle/pedestrian walkway which will connect the free area of Gabelluccia with the service area of San Francesco, near the Church , the bowling green and the pitch.

The walkway will have a length of approximately 85.00 m and a width of 5.00 m, with adequate flooring for this purpose.

Technical lights will be inserted externally, which will illuminate the walkway, making a place that has remained abandoned for too long fascinating. The solution identified is the result of inspections shared with the superintendency which led to considering the places where an old railway bridge stood, reinterpreting it with current aesthetic and structural standards.

Furthermore, a work of this kind creates a place that gives identity and regenerates the area in which it exists.

“The PNRR interventions for the Municipality of Crotone are increasingly becoming fully operational. A strategic work to connect two peripheral neighborhoods that are linked to the rest of the works underway in the surrounding areas. Thanks to the whole team and to the manager Caroli for the work they are carrying out on a series of projects destined to leave their mark on the city of Crotone” declares councilor Bossi.
