The Team – Teramo vehicle fleet has been renewed

TERAMO. The Teramo Ambiente vehicle fleet is renewed. Yesterday morning, in Piazza Martiri della Libertà, 15 new vehicles used for waste collection were presented and will be used from next week. At the presentation, preceded by the bishop’s blessing Lorenzo Leuzzithe mayor spoke Gianguido D’Albertothe president of the Team Sergio Saccomandi (together with the staff and employees of the company controlled by the Municipality), the councillor Valdo Di Bonaventura and the city councilor with responsibility for the environment Emiliano Carginari.
«The new vehicles, which replace the ones we had, will allow us to improve safety», declares Saccomandi, «and will be equipped with special software to start the punctual tariff in an experimental way. We are trying to create a car wash area in Carapollo in order to take care of these vehicles in the best possible way.” Regarding the Team’s activity and the birth of the new biodigester (the tender for the awarding of the works will be released by the end of 2024), Saccomandi underlines: «We have reached 72 percent of separate waste collection and the figure is improving further . The awards received, however, are not enough for us. We want to do even better. In 2025, with the definitive launch of the punctual tariff, we will reach the desired 80%. The biodigester project exists and we have started the bureaucratic process to implement it. Financing with Pnrr funds allows us to go faster.” Mayor D’Alberto highlights: «The strengthening of the fleet of vehicles, technologically advanced and ready for the arrival of the punctual tariff, is part of a path that has seen this administration as a protagonist in saving the Team and transforming it into in-house. Today it is the strongest public waste management company not only in the province but in the whole of Abruzzo. The purchase of the new Team vehicles”, concludes the mayor, “is a significant signal towards the workers, enabling them to operate better and in greater safety”.
