ANCONA – A petition launched by a spontaneous committee of citizens who are fighting to avoid the closure of the Collemarino clinic in via Ricci has already reached 500 signatures. In fact, after the first alarms brought to the attention of the city council, last January the structure had a renewal of the rental contract but only for one year. This raises fears that after 12 months the closure problem will recur. The residents of the neighbourhood, including Palombina, are not in favor of this and to avoid the closure they have called for a collection of signatures which they will present to the mayor Daniele Silvetti and to the general director of the Ast of Ancona Giovanni Stroppa. “No to the closure of the Collemarino-Palombina health center, yes to real healthcare in the area”. This is the slogan of the petition which can be signed in various businesses in the neighborhood (including the Taccalite oven) as well as at the Auser center in via Volta.

To take stock of the situation, a public meeting has been organized to be held on May 30th in the premises of the Auser in Collemarino. Speakers will be Luigi Fiordelmondo, retired general practitioner, doctor Patrizia Talevi, physiotherapist and lawyer Mariella Grippo. The appointment is at 6pm and we will talk about the defense of the local health and social services. The Collemarino clinic has provided multiple services to residents, is home to general practitioners, physiotherapists and a blood sampling centre, but in the last decade it has seen a decline in performance. It is a useful service especially for many elderly people who struggle to get around.
