LAUNCH – It closed this morning at They throw a week dedicated to youth volleyball with the BigMat Under 17 Men’s National Youth Finals. The Sports Hall of the Abruzzo city, enriched by a splendid setting for the public, was the theater of the triumph of Volleyball Treviso.

The Venetian team, led on the bench by Giovanni Cappelletto, therefore won the 2024 edition of the national event reserved for Under 17s, overcoming in the final with a score of 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-12) Volleyball Parella Turin. Volley Treviso had won the last Under 17 scudetto in 2015 and in the Under 18 category it had triumphed in 2019. The scudetto final was vibrant from the start with the two teams showing a very high level of play despite the young age of the protagonists on the field.
Volley Treviso reached this final with an almost perfect path; after the debut defeat against Pallavolo Bologna they strung together a series of 5 consecutive victories. Volley Parella, on the other hand, was the loose cannon and grew exponentially during the tournament, showing very good volleyball.

In the third-fourth place final, played in the nearby PalaMasciangelo, the 2023 champions of Devils Powervolley they beat the Marche team with a clear 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-23) Lube kitchens Civitanovaat the end of a match well played by the Lombards and dominated for long stretches.

Returning to the first and second place final, Treviso, however, began to fuel up as seen in the previous part and achieved the overtaking (9-8) and the subsequent breakaway. In the central phase of the set the two teams continued to battle and, after reacting to the initial moment of difficulty with good game organization, Volley Treviso made a new move (18-13), an advantage that was then managed until the attack winner by Costantini (25-21) which made it 1-0.

In the second set there was a prompt reaction from Volley Parella Torino, determined not to give up and ready to battle. The Piedmontese, thanks to an effective serve and the winning attacks of Khotsevysh and Boninsigni, took the lead (13-9). Treviso, however, did not become disunited and did well to recover the situation and after a good head-to-head (19-19) in the final stages they ended up with two unexploited set points. In the final, however, an error by Torino allowed Treviso to close out with the advantage (26-24).

Third set with the inertia of the match all on the side of Volley Treviso who, after having accumulated a good lead (16-8) continued to grind out the game and points.
The set almost becomes a Treviso monologue. Volley Parella Torino is no longer able to react and the team led by Simone Porro wins the victory (25-12) and the men’s Under 17 championship.

The federal coaches were also present at the BigMat National Under 17 Men’s Finals in recent days Monica Cresta and Luca Leoni with Stefano Recinemanager of the men’s national youth teams.
