Pesaro hosted yesterday, Saturday 25 May, the Italian “Open” Under 15 Championships and the Under 11 and Under 9 National Promotional Trophy. For the first time the athletes at the start of the under 15 championship competed on the four specialties, with the addition of the obstacle discipline to the traditional swimming and laser run (running and shooting) events.

Giorgia Gennaro (Scuola Sport) and Riccardo Spagnolini (Modena) won the Italian “Open” Under 15 Championship, in an intense day of competitions in Pesaro which saw around 200 very young pentathletes compete at the sports facilities in via Respighi and the “A” swimming pool. Porters”.

In the women’s race of the Italian “Open” Under 15 Championship, Giorgia Gennaro triumphed with 1147 points, preceding two other Asti girls: Giulia Secci (Scuola Sport) and Daisy Sconfienza (Asti Sport) with 1137 and 1136 respectively (in the photo source FIpm.it the podium). Other athletes from Asti also finish in the top ten, all from Asti Sport: Francesca Boano 5th, Margherita Bittner 7th and Camilla Maria Gamba 10th.

The team classification saw Asti Sport (Sconfienza-Boano-Bittner) close in command with 3368 points, ahead of Scuola Sport (Gennaro-Secci-Giordano) with 3338 and Modena (Fancelli-Gambetta-Paganelli) with 3249.

In the men’s competition, victory for the Modenese Riccardo Spagnolini (Modena) with 1165 points, second place for Davide Corteggiani (Ippolife) with 1152, third Michele Ottavio Dalia (La Primula Bianca) with 1147. In fourth place the best of Asti, Andrea Cossutti ( Futura CM) with 1145 points, seventh place for teammate Filippo Rubino, thirteenth for Riccardo Faussone.

The team competition was won by Modena (Spagnolini-Cavalli-Fiorillo) with 3424 points, ahead of Futura CM (Cossutti-Rubino-Faussone) with 3360 and Pentamodena (Selmi-Marigliani-Cinelli) with 3282.

The Under 11 and Under 9 National Promotional Trophy also took place on Saturday 25 May in Pesaro. Among the U11s, victory in the women’s race went to Ginevra Petrocchi (Tra Lupara Sport) ahead of Elisa Margani (Aprilia) and Cecilia Alessandro (Pentamodena ), while in the men’s race Francesco Cinelli (Modena) preceded Alessio Scoppetta (Aprilia) and Gabriele De Simone (Farapentathlon). Four people from Asti were also in the race: Edward Centola (Junior Asti) finished in fifth place, Umberto Zanaga and Andrea Penna (Scuola Sport) in seventh and eighth, Lorenzo Bonino (Junior Asti) 12th.
Finally, among the U9s, the victories went to Sofia Isabel Maffione (Futura Pesaro) and Ryan Annibaldi (Aprilia).
