Terranova also pulls down its shutters, another shop abandons Terni

«Critical moment» for Terni’s trade. After the announcement of the closure of Conpibel by August, now Terranova and Terranova kids are also pulling down their shutters. The two clothing stores of the Rimini Teddy group are not the first to close their doors in Corso Tacito. A couple of years ago it was the turn of Calliope, another clothing store belonging to the company. «Close to the workers», bitterly comment the Pd and Innovare per Terni council groups.

Closures Another shop going away. The announcement, which arrived in recent days, immediately alerted the unions who are trying to mediate between company and staff. Although it is not yet clear when the two businesses will finally cease, it would appear that the closure date is near. Just the day before yesterday «we joined the mobilization of Conbipel workers for the decision taken by the company to leave Terni. Unfortunately we have to take note – comment Pd and Innovare per Terni – of an identical decision taken by another brand in the same sector, namely Terranova”.

Trade at a «critical» moment The two board groups, in addition to expressing closeness to the employees and trade unions affected by this new «dramatic choice»: «We particularly share the work and request of Filcams Cgil, should the transfer to other premises take place, the commitment to reabsorb the affected workers. Terranova’s choice to close the store to date was motivated by the decline in sales and turnover recorded for at least a couple of years. As with Conbipel, we support the initiatives of workers and trade unions. The trade sector – conclude the two council groups – is experiencing an absolutely critical moment in Terni. We intend to do our part in the city council, both for the Conbipel dispute and for the Terranova dispute, through actions and discussions, albeit from minority forces.”
