On May 28th at 10.30 am at the “Corrado Alvaro” Palace in Reggio Calabria – Sala Perri – the award ceremony of the I scholarship will take place in the presence of the highest school and city authorities.
Edition of the Provincial Competition “In memory of Alberto Neri” – Being a volunteer today;: the gift of oneself for others – as 2023/2024 announced by the AIL Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma of Reggio Calabria.
The competition announced to remember Prof. Alberto Neri, illustrious hematologist and founder of Oncohaematology in Reggio, a profound advocate of volunteering in the healthcare field, who passed away prematurely in 1989, had the aim of raising students’ awareness of the culture of volunteering and donation, as well as promoting positive lifestyles based on participation .
The AIL (Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma) was founded in Reggio Calabria in 1977 with the mission of placing the patient at the center of attention, offering concrete services to support haematological oncology patients, their families and research.
For over 47 years the AIL -Sez. “TO. Blacks” in Reggio:
● PROMOTES AND SUPPORTS SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH for the treatment of
leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. At a national level it supports “GIMEMA”
Italian Group of Adult Hematological Diseases – Foundation that
promotes, manages and coordinates clinical research protocols on diseases
blood. It also supports research by financing scholarships for biologists,
doctors and clinical research coordinators at the Divisions of Hematology and
CTMO of the GOM of Reggio Calabria
● OFFERS ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS and their families, accompanying them on
all phases of the long and difficult path of the disease
● RAISES public awareness in the field of blood diseases,
donations and marrow.
