“Architectural barriers, a few steps forward”

The first debate between all four mayoral candidates which took place last Wednesday at the Palazzo del Capitano had as its appendage the vibrant protest (and it is not the first time) by ‘Beppe Rotelle’ for not being able to use the lift.

“The case brings the theme of inclusion back to the center of Cesena’s political agenda – attack Luigi Di Placido and Franco Pedrelli, candidates for the Cambiamo civic list – There have been numerous press releases on the subject for years, without this making us forget how much the city government has always made propaganda, without ever, let alone ever, addressing the issue”. For Di Placido and Pedrelli, over the years very few steps have been taken to overcome the problem of architectural barriers. The Verona councilor’s ‘Peba’ itself appears to be “a mere academic exercise which involved only the Historic Centre, a shining emblem of the state of inclusion in the territory”.

Cambiamo’s candidates point the finger at the mayoral candidate Lattuca, “who continues to ignore the issue in addition to simple and convenient propaganda”. And they highlight “the almost 500 public transport stops that continue to be unavailable for disabled people in wheelchairs”. The civic list “wants to change the state of things also on the inclusion front, so that the next prefectural meeting will be of satisfaction for all the actors involved, starting with disabled citizens”.
