Continental photographs the state of mobility in the Brescia area: in the Lombardy province 44% of the fleet is a maximum of 10 years old. +37% registrations of electric cars (BEV). Hybrids are also doing well: in one year +39% on used cars

Between 2022 and 2023, the registration of electric cars in the Brescia area increased by 37.78%, going from 1,236 to 1,703 units. The situation on the hybrid front is also positive: +9.49% in the same period, with the transition from 7,574 to 8,293 units.

Some interesting reflections can also be made by observing the data relating to the used car market: as regards electric cars, between 2022 and 2023 an increase of 8.24% was recorded, or from 425 to 460 units. For the hybrid, however, there was a leap forward of 39.66%, with the passage from 2,436 to 3,402 units. The sensitivity demonstrated in the province towards electrified cars can benefit from a charging network made up of 1132 points distributed in 414 areas.

Consider that the fleet circulating in the capital is made up of 74.1% of cars (against the 74.6% recorded at national level), 12.9% of motorcycles (13.7% at national level) and 9.4% from goods transport trucks (same national average). The rest concerns residual shares of other vehicles (such as buses, special trucks, three-wheelers…).

Another useful aspect for developing the concept of sustainability in the territory concerns the emission category of motor vehicles: the most represented is Euro 6, which already covers 34.7% of vehicles in circulation. A figure higher than the national average of 29.6%. Euro 4 follows with 18.6% (slightly below the national average of 19.5%). In third place we find Euro 5 with 17.4% (the national average reaches 14.8%).

This last analysis is consistently confirmed if we shift attention to the age of the fleet: the vehicles in circulation in the province of Brescia aged up to 10 years are 44.1% of the total (in Italy 38.5%) . The most represented range is that of 5 to 10 years with 23.5% (19% for Italy), followed by that of 10-15 years with 18.8% (16.7% nationally).

In the food sector, petrol still dominates, with 45.4% of the total and diesel with 40.5% (“against” a percentage of 46.1% and 40.4% at a national level). The data on the diffusion of electrified vehicles is interesting: electric is at 0.7% of the total, above the national figure of 0.5%, while hybrid vehicles (both petrol and diesel) stand at 3.9% (4.1% the Italian average).
