At the Gallarate Arts Theater the “Little Prince”, an engaging show

At the Teatro delle Arti it is on stage on Saturday 25 May. “The Little Prince”, based on the classic by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and proposed by the Gallarate company Behind the Scenes. Which also offers two activities with children, to involve them in the show.

An aviator crashes his plane in the Sahara desert, where suddenly makes an unexpected encounter: a child with golden hair. The two immediately become friends and the Little Prince tells the aviator about his long journey to get to earth. In fact, the child comes from a small asteroid called B 612, where he left his three volcanoes and a rose with which he had an argument.

During his journey, The Little Prince lands on six different planets where he meets as many characters who represent some human archetypes: a queen greedy for power, a vain woman centered only on herself, a drunkard who is ashamed of drinking, a businessman who only thinks about money, a lamplighter who turns his lamp on and off every minute and a geographer who studies in huge books.

The little man then arrives on earth where he has three other important encounters: a snake who offers him to escape from the pain of life thanks to its fatal bite, a fox who, asking to be tamed, teaches him the value of love and friendship and a flower garden that gives rise to the thought that although there are millions of other roses, the one he takes care of is the most important.

Through all these stories the friendship between the Little Prince and the aviator becomes increasingly stronger and when the man manages to repair his aircraft to resume his journey even the little man decides, with the help of the snake that will allow him to abandon his physical body forever, to return to his planet to his rose.

The two activities proposed for children:

1. The Little Prince’s notice board
Noticeboards will be set up in the theater atrium on which children can leave a message or a drawing for the Little Prince; therefore we ask that these drawings or messages be made at home and brought to the theater already finished (we recommend the classic format of A4 paper so that all the works created can be hung).
One of our staff will help the children once they arrive at the theater to set up the notice board.

2. Lots of stars in the sky
We ask you to create a star to apply to a straw or other support that you deem useful. At the appropriate moment the children will have to lift it, the actors will guide the children during this operation, inviting them to lift their stars upwards. You can choose the decorative technique you prefer.
