This edition, dedicated to the theme “The memory of the sea”, will offer visitors a reflection on the present and history through the symbolic element of the sea. The sea, a source of poetic and literary inspiration, represents union between peoples and civilisations, welcome and exchange, as well as a treasure chest of historical and epic events. He is the bearer of hopes and new beginnings, but also a witness to dramatic episodes, of death and indifference.
Promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bari and the Association of Book Principals, with the support of the Puglia Region – PACT – Polo Arti Cultura Turismo Puglia Region, the initiative is organized by the International Book Fair together with the booksellers of Bari and province, and to Apulian publishing houses with the support of the APE-Associazione Pugliese Editori.
Lungomare di Libri is part of the rich calendar of summer events in Bari, alongside the concerts of the Festa del Mare, Bari Piano Festival, Bari in Jazz, Premio Rota and Locus Festival, as well as the numerous events of Le Due Bari. It is thus confirmed as one extraordinary piece of the long summer in Bari, offering readers of all ages the opportunity to immerse themselves in literary and musical culture in an evocative setting.
