An important fish seizure which was about to be served to the patrons of a lido with restaurant in Torre del Greco: however, checks revealed it to lack the necessary traceability.
Seizure of fish in a bathing establishment
Over the past week, a joint operation between the agents of the police station of Torre del Greco, the soldiers of the port authoritiesthe Local Police and the ASL Napoli 3 have brought about an extraordinary service of control of the territory in Torre del Greco.
During the activity, they were four beach resorts inspected. In one of these, the absence of the SCIA (certified notification of commencement of activity) was found. In another factory, anomalies emerged regarding food conservation and the cleaning of the rooms.
The bathing establishment in question would also be equipped with a restaurant area for its customers: following the check by the police, some requirements were imposed to ensure compliance with the hygiene and health regulations. Furthermore, 11 kg of untraceable fish products were seized.
Even the Carabinieri are active against illegal work
A constant territorial control activity which, in this summer 2024, focuses precisely on accommodation companies, beach establishments and restaurants. In fact, on 24 June it was made known that – thanks to other checks carried out by the Carabinieri and the Labor Inspectorate – a structure had been sanctioned for 64 thousand euros.
The sanction was determined by the discovery, by the military, of omitted health surveillance and omitted training on safety in the workplace. They were identified during the operations a total of 41 workers and all were regularly employed: only on one beach were they found, in addition to the regular staff 5 illegal workers.
