Stellantis: after Cassino, Turin is also mobilizing again

There is no peace for Stellantis in Italy. After the strike of the employees of the Cassino plant, Turin will also be mobilizing again on June 12th. Fim, Fiom and Uilm of Turin, meeting yesterday, they decided to continue the actions started with the demonstration on 12 April. During that procession, participation was significant, but neither the company nor the institutions, despite the presence of Mayor Lorusso in the square, gave any sign of response.

Turin will once again mobilize against Stellantis’ policies on June 12th

The new initiative was organized with the aim of relaunching production and employment in Turin, starting from the Mirafiori plant. The unions explain that it will be an opportunity to discuss in depth the future of the automotive sector in the region, involving various stakeholders. The event will take place in the center of Turin, under the town hall in Piazza Palazzo di Città, and the detailed program will be announced in the coming weeks.

The situation is even more tense in Cassino, where yesterday Fiom, Uilm and Cub went on strike for the second consecutive day against the exhausting shifts imposed on the few workers who work on the only production line. After Tuesday’s protests, another hour of strike was added to protest the workloads deemed excessive. They are produced in the Piedimonte San Germano factory Maserati Grecale, Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, but the transition from the “Giorgio” platform to the new “Stla Large” platform for the new models has been underway for months. Currently, only one line and one shift is operational, from 6am to 2pm, with very intense work pace. We will therefore see how the situation will evolve.
