On Thursday 23 May, the Barletta Rotary Club, in collaboration with the Shalom Cooperative and the Municipality of Barletta, will report on the “CON-TATTO” service, a computer literacy project aimed at self-sufficient elderly people.

This project of the Rotary Club of Barletta is certainly compelling, a service started last year under the presidency of Giorgio Vitali, continued this year during the current presidency of Francesco Paolo Piazzolla.

The project is aimed at bringing the over 65s closer to new digital technologies.

Its name “CON-TATTO” already explains the dual intention: to put people in contact with the digital world and, at the same time, to use appropriate methods for those who are not familiar with the internet.

The characteristics of the project were illustrated at the Multipurpose Center for the Elderly in Via Regina Margherita in Barletta at the meeting on Monday 5 February.

An important evening of presentation, which was also characterized by the enthusiastic testimonies of some future students.

Specific theme: “Seniors and technology: what are the advantages and disadvantages”.

Purpose: first and foremost computer literacy, but also with a particular focus on online scams and computer viruses, given the countless scams that predominantly target the elderly population.

The course is aimed at seniors over 65, attending the Multipurpose Social Center in via Regina Margherita and was financed entirely by the Rotary Club of Barletta.
