LAWN. The most beautiful race in the world will pass through Prato on Friday 14 June and will be a zero-emission stage. For the second time after 2021 it will pass through the province of Prato but with something new: the compensation of polluting emissions through a carbon neutrality project. The idea sees as protagonist Aci Prato which, thanks to the contribution of its technicians, calculated the impact of the event, in particular in terms of the quantity of carbon dioxide emitted. And then, in agreement with the municipal administration, it will provide planting and green actions to balance the emissions balance. A path that will concern all the 2024 events of Aci Prato and which arrives after the signing of the City Contract on climate neutrality for 2030. «I am grateful to all those who are here today and who for the second time have made the organization of the passage of the 1000 miles from our city”, comments the mayor of Prato, Matteo Biffoni.

«In the city there is great enthusiasm around the passage of the Mille Miglia – comments president Mazzoni – The route is spectacular, the cars that will pass through Prato will be truly unique pieces, and the organizing committee is studying every single detail to make the ride unforgettable. As Automobile Club Prato we also want to send a message to confirm the philosophy of attention to the environmental impact of our events on the territory. A joint journey with the Municipality, with which we found total collaboration.” The caravan, for the fourth stage from Rome to Bologna, will enter our province from Carmignano, at Il Pinone. It will then pass through Poggio a Caiano, follow the route in via Roma, and then turn onto the industrial axis. Here you will take via Berlinguer, pass in front of the Pecci Museum, and see the competing cars turn into via Ferrucci along the preferential lane. From here there will be a landing in Piazza San Marco and Viale Piave for the time control near the Emperor’s Castle. The first landing, that of the 120 Ferraris of the Tribute 1000 Miglia, at the head of the convoy, is expected around 5.15pm. The arrival of the 420 historic cars, together with the full electric ones of the Mille Miglia Green, the supercars, the modern hypercars of the Mille Miglia Experience and the self-driving car of the Milan Polytechnic is scheduled for around 6.30pm. After passing through the Emperor’s Castle, the new features of the 2024 Prato route of the ‘most beautiful race in the world’ will begin. There will be a stamp check in Piazza del Comune, then the cars will pass through Piazza del Duomo for the first time. Following via Muzzi, Porta Pistoiese with the welcome of the Chinese community, via Bologna and the entrance to the avenue of the Fabbricone Storico which will tell the story of the textile tradition of the district. The final part of the Prato stage will see the cars circulate along Ponte Datini, viale Borgovalsugana, via Firenze and head towards the provincial border with Calenzano. In total, approximately 1,110 cars will pass through.
