Three arrests to bust a drug dealing network, which allegedly supplied even children with cocaine. The operation with which the Taranto Financial Police launched yet another blow to the drug business, in this case also sold to minors, began at dawn today. The soldiers of Colonel Massimilano Tibollo carried out the precautionary custody order signed by the investigating judge of Taranto at the request of the Ionian prosecutor’s office. Three people ended up in prison, while another suspect was ordered to stay.
The investigation
The investigations allowed the Fiamme Gialle joniche to shed light on an alleged drug dealing activity that was allegedly perpetrated by the suspects based in a town in the province. Specifically, it was found that the recipients of the measure, between March and June 2022, carried out numerous sales of cocaine to consumers, including minors.
The kidnapping
During the investigations, precisely on 17 June two years ago, the Guardia di Finanza seized 15 thousand euros from some suspects, a sum believed to be the proceeds of the alleged drug dealing. The apparent drug deliveries were preceded by cryptic communications in which the suspects referred to the cocaine as “coffee”, “shirt”, “naphtha” and “mosquito net”.
The service operation, carried out in close synergy with the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Taranto, testifies to the constant commitment made by the Ionian Financial Police in the fight against drug dealing, especially for the protection of young people.
Due to the principle of “presumption of innocence”, the responsibility of the persons subjected to investigations will be definitively ascertained only in the event of an irrevocable conviction.
