UDINE – Strengthen reception and training, thus guaranteeing safety for citizens. These are the operational lines that emerged during a meeting at the Prefecture in Udine, in the presence of the prefect Domenico Lione, the commissioner Alfredo D’Agostino, and the municipal councilor for social equity, Stefano Gasparin, regarding the management of foreign minors not accompanied people present in the city.

The summit

During the summit, long-term measures were developed on multiple levels and with the collaboration of operators, associations and public and private bodies. There are frequent incidents in the city which – even recently – have involved minors. The need to “respond to the need for scholastic and professional training, facilitating young people in learning Italian and subsequently a profession” and to involve “other bodies such as the health authority or external offices responsible for managing minors to include young people in tailor-made programs”, and to manage ” the first welcome with a coordinated and unitary direction”. «We are working in synergy with all the actors in the field to launch a series of structural interventions for the reception of unaccompanied minors – commented Lyon -, i.e. coordinated interventions that involve cooperation between multiple institutions and public and private bodies for a overall”. «A useful meeting – said Gasparin – and now we will work together to give concrete and concrete support strengthen interventions for the accompaniment and education of children who have great difficulties and we see the reactions they have every day on the roads. It is a structural reality that must be addressed by intensifying forces to give citizens security and children the opportunity to live in a peaceful and safe reality.”
