Below is an emotional writing by the literature professor Lucrezia Germinario

“Homeward…”
We are on the bus heading home: we have a long road ahead but our thoughts travel backwards.
Return there, on board the Grimaldi Lines Cruise-Rome, to the magic of the “Smaila” room, where between portholes that open like smiles on the open sea, of an indigo that smells of infinity and the swarming of the immature glances of our boys, the 2023/24 edition of the “Seamphony” music competition has taken shape.
It is on the wings of music that the students of SMS “R. Monterisi”, accompanied by the teachers of
instrument, Masters and Mentors, make their dreams soar and vibrate high, using the language of music, which shortens distances, enhances differences and passes through the soul.
For a handful of days, from 11 to 14 May, that ferryboat becomes the “Garden without the
night” by Montaner, thanks to the alchemy of the music of our kids, who there meet others with their
backpacks full of dreams, stories and hopes…just like them.
And once again it is the school that takes care of this garden, planting and disseminating seeds of beauty everywhere, even through the folk alleys of Barcelona, with its visionary views, among the colors of Casa Batlò, where anyone who places their The eye can still hear Gaudi’s heart beating and the timeless synesthesia of the Palau de la Musica.
Our boys, as often happens and not by chance, came first. But the most coveted position always remains that of the people who will be able to become in life, thanks also to the demiurgic power of music.
