LOMBARDY – The Civil Protection of the Lombardy Region has issued a weather alert for today and for the night between today and tomorrow.
From midnight a high risk of hydrogeological phenomena is expected across the entire region. Landslides, mudslides and flooding are possible, especially in areas already affected by heavy rainfall.
From 9.00pm today, a moderate risk of hydraulic phenomena is expected, with possible flooding of rivers and ditches, especially in the central-southern areas of the region.
From the early hours of this afternoon, showers and thunderstorms, including strong ones, are expected across the entire region. The phenomena will be more intense between late afternoon and night, with possible storms and hailstorms.
Widespread rainfall is expected across the entire region, with possible cumulative rainfall of up to 100 mm in 24 hours, especially in the high plains.
Finally, moderate or strong east winds are expected, with local reinforcements during thunderstorms. It is recommended to pay attention to the warnings and follow the instructions of the local authorities.
