There are no maximum alert areas but the following has been decreed: – pre-alarm state (orange) in the Alto Brenta-Bacchiglione-Alpone basin; in the Po basin, Fissero-Tartaro-Canal Bianco; in the Adige-Garda and Monti Lessini basin and in the Basso Brenta – Bacchiglione basin – state of attention (yellow) in the Basso Adige basins; Lower Piave, Sile and lagoon drainage basin; of the Livenza, Lemene and Tagliamento, of the Livenza, Lemene and Tagliamento and in the Piave Pedemontano basin. Regional councilor Bottacin

Based on the forecasted weather evolution, further hydrometric increases are expected in the next few hours which could more significantly affect the watercourses in the plain and foothill sectors of central-western Veneto. «The worst should be over – explains regional councilor Gianpiero Bottacin -, the regional Civil Protection with dozens of technicians and volunteers in the field continues its constant monitoring and support work in the various territories, especially those most in difficulty».

Zaia takes stock of the situation

«The rain does not leave Veneto in these hours. The area is suffering from the rainfall of recent days: the water-soaked ground struggles to receive this new wave. This time too in the Vicenza area, where we had rainfall peaks that exceeded 150 mm of rain, the Caldogno and Montebello rolling basins came into operation, giving vent to the waters and guaranteeing greater safety to the neighboring territories. In the Veronese area the Colombaretta basin. The Orolo basin could also become operational in the next period. Without these basins we would be faced with widespread flooding in the territory and in city areas». This was declared by the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia.

«The situation of the embankments and the local water network is very delicate. All eyes on last week’s routes, especially that of Camposampiero (Padua), which was repaired in record time, but needs attention. The technicians of the Region – coordinated in these difficult hours by the regional councilor for Civil Protection – are also following with particular attention the Muson dei Sassi, whose levels are worrying. We are monitoring some flooding and overflows, especially in the areas of Vicenza and Verona – Zaia further explained -. The disturbance in these hours is moving towards the eastern area of the Region, where civil protection, as in many other areas of Veneto, is already alerted and at work. I thank all those who are in the area during these hours to assist the population and guarantee safety, in difficult conditions».
