From 22 May to 12 June, stations will be set up in hospitals in Florence where you can receive information on three oncological screenings: for the prevention of cervical, breast and colorectal cancer. For the latter you can also collect the occult blood test kit if you have the invitation letter. The initiative is promoted by ASL Toscana centro and Ispro and in Florentine Valdarno it will be held at the Serristori hospital in Figline on Friday 24 May from 8.30am to 5pm.
Oncology screenings are interventions aimed at the early diagnosis of tumors or even alterations that may precede their onset. Participating in free cancer screenings can save your health by facilitating timely access to treatment. In Tuscany, citizens are invited by letter to carry out free screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. Precisely to encourage access to prevention, the Local Health Authority of Tuscany Center has organized screening days in hospitals. Citizens who are between 50 and 70 years old and have received the letter of invitation to participate in colorectal cancer screening will be able to show up to collect the kit. Even those who have not received the invitation letter will be able to show up and, if eligible, will receive the kit a few days later by post.
