The goal is to restart the dialogue with the world of Chinese art establishing cultural connections and exchanges through the art forms of animated cinema, comics and plastic arts.

Relations with China began as early as 2019 when, following the collaboration with the Chinese Medicine Association of Rimini, the Festival Cartoon Club organized a cultural exchange with China involving Augeo Art Space and some of its selected artists. Thanks to the support of the president of the Association, Dr. Hu, it was possible to invite to Rimini, on the occasion of the 2019 edition of Cartoon Club 2019, a delegation of artists connected to the Shaanxi Fine Art Development Foundation led by Professor Wang Xijing, famous throughout the world for his paintings made with the traditional technique of Chinese painting and lover of animated cinema; other prominent representatives were with him such as director Zhang Lu, and Liu Kecheng, former president of the School of Architecture, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology.

On this occasion, a joint memorandum of intent was signed between all the entities and also signed by the Municipal Administration of Rimini in the figure of the then councilor for culture Giampiero Piscagliawhich involves international exchanges to improve mutual cultural knowledge and promote the circulation of works of art and artists.

In 2023, after the forced stop due to the pandemic, the exchange was repeated in Rimini with representatives of the Chinese Overseas Multimedia Company of Shanghai led by the President Mr. Liu Wei.

Now it’s the turn of the two people from Rimini to fly to Shanghai and Beijing to learn more about the cultural and artistic reality of the country of the Dragon, to encourage long-term collaborations and the consolidation of strategic partnerships, with the aim of realizing art exhibitions, film screenings and cultural events, exchange programs between Italian and Chinese artists in the near future, allowing them to work together to share techniques, styles and inspirations. This will facilitate the creation of collaborative works and promote greater mutual understanding of each other’s cultures.

In the future, the project could expand its activities while also creating a more solid economic dimension of cultural and tourism business between the city of Rimini and the Chinese community.
