The Carabinieri of the Rome Airports Company at the “Leonardo Da Vinci” airport identified and reported 7 people for attempted theft and sanctioned the NCC drivers while they were procuring customers among the passengers.
Specifically, five NCC drivers sanctioned by the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, caught near Arrivals Terminal 3, while they were illicitly procuring customers among passengers in transit, outside the stalls, without having the right, for a total amount of approximately 10,300 EUR.
Shortly afterwards, however, the Carabinieri of the Fiumicino Airport Station, in separate activities, reported 7 people, all foreign citizens, who attempted to pass the duty free checkouts located inside the airport, without paying, while they were waiting for their respective flights. The military found several perfumery and cosmetic products, worth over 2,500 euros. The travelers were noticed by the security staff who immediately alerted the Carabinieri, thus managing to recover the stolen goods and return them to the managers of the commercial establishments.
All of them were reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Civitavecchia for the crime of attempted theft.
Finally, at the end of an info-investigative activity, the Carabinieri of the Operational Division of the Rome Airports Company reported four employees, with the role of warehouse workers, aged between 54 and 64 years, all Italian, seriously suspected of aggravated theft in competition.
Specifically, the four employees, while they were inside the cargo city area for work reasons, took possession of 75 Epals (euro pallets – wooden platforms to facilitate the movement of goods), for a commercial value equal to approximately 2,000 euros.
