Viterbo: steals from a hotel room, caught and risks lynching

He enters a hotel room to steal but risks being lynched. It happened last night around 9.30pm at the Balletti hotel in via Vismara. The man, a young Egyptian of 25 years old, had managed to enter a room and steal some money. He hadn’t taken into account the occupants: tourists of Colombian origin. The group, about forty people in total, caught the young man in the act. At that point the 25-year-old pulled out a knife and threatened the tourists, trying to escape but was caught and stopped. Only the intervention of the flying squad, which rushed with two patrols, saved the Egyptian from being lynched. The boy was taken to the police station. Already known for a series of precedents, the 25-year-old was arrested for aggravated improper robbery. The prosecutor ordered the transfer to prison at the disposal of the investigating judge. During the checks, the boy was also found in possession of a jacket stolen from a member of the group and a passport, presumably taken from the accommodation facility.
