Dehors. Below is a note jointly signed by the municipal councilors of ‘L’Aquila Nuova’ and ‘L’Aquila courageous’, respectively Paolo Romano And Lorenzo Rotellini
L’AQUILA – “Only at the end of May of a very hot spring did the municipal administration decide to revise the regulation of the Dehors, the outdoor tables of public establishments, dramatically stopped in the Covid era for the annual one and even for 2018 for the three-year period.
Even a child would understand that any annual reform regarding dehors cannot be done close to the summer season, when the premises have already installed their dehors and above all have already sent the municipality a specific request for authorization according to the current regulation.
But there is more: in the Municipality there are dehors files lying closed in drawers which in recent months have even received the positive opinion of the Superintendency but which the administration refuses to remove from the SUAP sector. Why? How is it justified at an administrative and political level? The only thing this administration had to get its hands on is the ascertainment of infringements by commercial activities regarding the authorizations received and the ascertainment of those who do not even have an authorization despite having already set up an outdoor area.
But even here it is not known who should carry out the checks, in a continuous back-and-forth between sectors and between parties of the same majority. The councilor for traffic and municipal police Cucchiarella, instead of cloaking himself in glory for a fine owed to an unauthorized truck that crashed into the main square in recent days causing damage, should take action on his sector which still remains without a commander in total contempt of the laws in force and perhaps clarify what the definitive road network of Piazza Duomo and the main street will be from September, including that of the Ama shuttle, an essential service for the use of the historic center.
The announcement of a new planning of the dehors for next year is to say the least late as well as ridiculous, especially since the content seems similar to the requests made by us in November 2022 with a note which was never followed up on formal and which included a detailed plan for each area of the historic center and the possibility of installing closed dehors, compatible with both the architectural and climatic context”.
