Massa Marittima (Grosseto). A debate, the one on the elections, interesting and calm, but over which, following the utterances on social media, the contenders get heated and then, on the part of the electoral committee of “Living Massa”, clarifications arrive, stating that “among the four contenders for the office of mayor the real and only novelty is represented by Vinciarelli”.
“He is in fact the only one who has not had relations with any political or party group in his CV. Isn’t this true? If this is not true, we need to prove the opposite, that is, that Marconi is not the daughter of that Democratic Party that wants continuity in discontinuity – continues the note of ‘Vivere Massa’ –; for Poli that it is not true that he comes from the Democratic Party, with clear political and institutional roles, and finally that Mazzocco was not the founder of the civic list which he left after a few months of presence in the Council way back in 2009. In short, everyone has links with a past that, for better or worse, has influenced the life of the city and the territory. Vinciarelli, on the other hand, does not have these characteristics and presents himself without ‘political precedents’”.
“Then there is the construction part: on this too the forces in play must be expressed and measured with concrete proposals on which the citizens will evaluate and express themselves with a vote that will give rise to the city government for the next 5 years, for which requires concrete proposals and not just analysis and criticism – continues the statement –. On the specific topic of healthcare, Vinciarelli has started a clear path, with the proposal to reconstitute the district, the first stone for the reconstruction of a service system close to the local communities. Not only that: the program calls for the relaunch of the hospital, now a factory. As? With a territorial pact that describes the offering of services and is the result of political and institutional sharing between the municipalities in the area, the health authority and the Tuscany region itself. Poli aligned himself with these positions but certainly cannot claim paternity, Mazzocco prefers to throw it into personal controversies far from political dialectics”.
“A point to highlight is Marconi’s position, which recognizes the validity of the proposal and promises battles, but must remember that the motion presented in the Council is also the result of the amendments proposed by entities such as Massa Comune, Lega and PCI and was only formally read by Balestri – goes on the statement –. Furthermore, it is good to remind Marconi that it is nothing new to foresee competitions for primary doctors, Massa has always had them and it is precisely the recent past that has seen them suppressed with regional policies, together with dozens of beds and investments in the territory, such as the Casa della Salute, never happened. In short, several million euros have been saved with the cuts, but the area is increasingly deprived of family doctors, paediatricians and specialists and the hospital is increasingly weakened. Citizens who have to struggle to get local assistance or hospital services know this well.”
“On this too the difference between Vinciarelli and the other contenders is measured and Vinciarelli with his calmness and his concrete proposals changes the way of dealing with the community – ends the statement – and with a perspective of governance of the City that make the difference compared to the other contenders”.
